Twist stix…

Hey, y’all…

Well, summer is in full swing around here, and we’re making popsicles. And not just any popsicles, either!!!

We’re using these things that I got at Food Lion last year. They’re awesome! They actually work! No mess or anything….

Any suggestions for things to fill them with? I’m always looking for new popsicle recipes…

I basically blend up fruit for my popsicles. And, because I'm me, I add stuff like yogurt and spinach in the blender, too. Basically I do the same things I do for smoothies, except I make them wetter.

Sometimes I add more honey, or lemon juice/zest to make raspberry lemonade popsicles, etc.

Funny because I was just perfecting my popsicle recipe in my head today! I am going to try a carob version since I have one that is sensitive to caffeine. I will post the recipe if it turns out in such a way that three out of four children will eat it! ;)

My standby is freezing my smoothie recipe that I posted earlier, but with extra strawberries to make them have a stronger taste.

I totally agree with Terri above: add yogurt, or something else with some fat in it. Sometimes, I just add in a tablespoon or two of coconut oil. Anyhow, I find this helps them get fuller faster. I like our snacks to be easy, but filling! ;)
