picture book library….
This post from Holy Experience is one that I’ve now bookmarked here. We don’t buy many books new, but a lot of these looked like they’d totally be worth the pennies.
I loved most of the books on that list. Just wanted to ask if you guys have the "Jesus Storybook Bible" ? We got it from church when Shepard was baptized because they really like it. I wondered what your thoughts on it were? Honestly, I really, really don't like it! It's very popular right now...
Actually, Rachel, we don't like The Jesus Storybook bible, either. We've read part of it, and there were some inaccuracies that bothered us. I highly recommend the Big Picture Storybook Bible. It's much, much better...
Glad to know it's not just us! I felt like there were inaccuracies too. It seems like people take a Bible story and to make it fit into their space or make it so they think a child can understand it, they change it and cut it and paraphrase it until there is little left of the actually story, or at least the most important lessons in it! Very frustrating. And honestly, I don't care for the illustrations either. There are definitely better options out there!!!
