Abstract painting...

This $10 yard sale find had a great frame and mat. But I barely tolerated the print inside. What to do?
Commission a new young painter to create an abstract masterpiece...

"I must suffer for my art."

A large piece of blotting paper at the local art supply store cost $2.50. I got another one for future artistic endeavors. A close inspection revealed that the mat had been superglued to the tacky print. Grrr. A little masking tape on the corners to tape over the useless mat, and some masking tape on the back to hold the picture in after all the cutting out I did. And... voila! Perfect art for the playroom...

Haha...I love the picture where Seth is looking at you! It might be just me, but he and Ian still remind me a lot of each other. :)

CUTE art, and great idea!

Kid art is the best.

My MIL did this with hubby's artwork as a kid...the best part is that you will have it to give to your son when he's older. Unfortunately hubby lost his in a fire when we were dating, because he was really happy to have them!

I wonder if you couldn't cut out the old art with an x-acto knife? Then you still get to use the matting. I love the idea though.
