Sarah is still here, so that's why I've been awol. =) We've had a loverly time, and she has an adorable little apartment that really fits her. It took some doing, but we got 'er done. It's still practically impossible for me to wrap my mind around the idea that, though I will put her on a plane back to New York today, she will be my neighbor down the street by two weeks from now. I haven't actually had many friends from the olden days move near to me, so this is a weird one. Spooky.

But, Kelli put me on to a new blog template site, so while she was here, she sat and chatted with me and I puttered to my heart's content. It went something like this:

"What about this one?"

"Too busy in the background. Next."

"Ok, this is it."

"Hmmm... well..."

This was lots of fun for me, as David does not enjoy helping me try on blog clothes. But now I shall ask you. I have become fond of my gnome identity, but these are adorable. I have set up a test blog at another address that I can fiddle with without messing up my old school gnome template. It's a classic blogger, so I can't have widgets really. The new templates here have widgets. Hmm. Do I care? Do I not. Go here, and tell me if you think I should keep the gnomes or move on.

The test template is really classy but the gnome one, well, it's my favorite. Very fun. That's my $.02

I'm with momma b. The gnomes are better. The other template looks nice, but it is harder to read because some of the background is underneath the text of the words and also because it is hard to beat a while background with dark letters for readability. I'm also not a huge fan of scrolling that scrolls the text and not the background as well. I think it is easier to lose your place when you are scrolling down.

I like the test template too, but the gnomes just make me smile. I vote Keep The Gnomes! :) BUT, now you have new options if ever you do get tired of little bearded men. Hahaha...

Okay, maybe I am just a big fan of brown, but I loved loved loved the test site. Very classy and clean.

Of course, I will always think of you when I see gnomes on sale at Walgreens, so this changes nothing.

By the way, eventually we all have to change to widgets because it is the way of the future. (I am a fatalist when it comes to technology.) I didn't like them so much at first, but now that I am getting the hang of it, I think they are pretty handy. You might like them, too.

By the way...what exactly are widgets? I hear about them a lot in the bloggy world, but I'm so...not computer savvy...

SAVE THE GNOMES!! The gnomes must stay or I'll never read your blog again! LOL :)

I really like the new template. A lot. But that's just me.

No matter what template you use, I'll keep reading. :)

So far, the gnomes are edging out classiness... just barely. Have we all concluded that I'm far more quirky than classy? Hmmmm. I may write the gal who created the template and ask her how to do a few more things with the gnomes, maybe see how to make it widget compatible. I'm considering finding a gnome and taking my picture with him and putting it up in my profile, if I can figure out how to do that with old blogger. If you know how to do it, let me know...
